Let’s build the future in the present!

THE RACE OF ALTERNATIVE DRIVEN VEHICLES

The Széchenyi Race, the Race of Alternative Driven Vehicles is taking place in April 2008 in the car park of István Széchenyi University, Győr. According to the experiences of the past two races and the needs and requirements of the participating teams, this year we create a new category.

For the category of „Hobby” we are awaiting the applications of such teams, whose main target is to build a vehicle from mostly reused parts from minimal costs and are aiming to create the framework of the „vehicle of the future”. This category is almost like the next step of the category of last year, the Amateur Category. Dividing the last year’s second category, we created the categories of „Prototype” and „Serial car re-constructing”.

For the „Prototype” Category such teams can apply, who plan and build the system of their vehicle totally on their own for the race. For the last category we are waiting for teams who reconstruct commonly used cars into alternative driven vehicles. The main difference between the „Hobby” Category and the other two categories is that in the first category the vehicles are mainly built by the teamwork of engineering students, while the works of the appliers of the two other categories are supported by firms, teacher departments, know-how centers in a way that they play an important role in realizing the material, professional and infrastructural basics of the process.

The Third Széchenyi Race is waiting for all those international competitors or people who are interested in the event.

In the center of our interest stands the fact that what kind of solutions the young engineers, determining the future of the automobil-technology of the surrounding countries, try to give for those serious questions, that will probably mostly determine their life in the following years. In these questions of course we firstly think about taking care of the environment through alternative driven technologies. And of course we can proudly present all of the vehicles, ideas and other stuffs to every visitor that were realized for the past two races.

The planned date of the 3rd Széchenyi Race: the end of April 2008.
