Hi Antal, for the next 2 weeks my children have holidays: I hope to find some time to improve the planning for my trip to Hungary. And I prepared a short information sheet about my Twike: may I ask you to translate it into Hungarian language? Some technical information about my car: electric engine: 3 kW (3-phase asynchronous motor with static inverter); max. speed: 85 km/h; acceleration from 0 - 60 km/h 9 seconds; power supply: 3 energy packs (NiCd), each pack consists of 280 x 1,2 V (336 V / 3,6 Ah); range:75 - 85 km; charge batteries 1 km / min at 230 V; charging time less than 2 hours; energy consumption     4 - 5 kWh / 100 km; ~0,80 Euro/100 km = 200 forint/100 km Best Regards  Klaus

Hello Antal,  slowly, very slowly we come deeper and deeper with our investigations about a 'Twike trip to Hungary'. May I ask you (as an expert) some questions about

· travel in Hungary with electric powered cars (traffic, road conditions, electric power supply, language problems)

· camping in Hungary (you will remember: my daughter wanted to visit her girl friend in Debrecen...)

details about security issues for foreigners (in Germany we heard about difficulties between rich and poor people in Hungary)

In the very beginning we have to improve the physical condition of my daughter (she is not really in favour of sports, except of horse riding). So we will start to visit my father in law by TWIKE more often (about 100 km for one way). Second step: we will visit some friends in northern Bavaria (something arround 300 km one way = 600 km in 2 days) Then I think we are ready to think about an excursion to Balatonalmadi in order to learn some details about Hungary. I think this is the best way to prepare the final step: journey via Balatonalmadi and Budapest to Debrecen (which is about 1000 km for one way).

English or German: which of these foreign languages do you think is more common in Hungary? Do I need a basic knowledge in Hungarian language? Best regards, Klaus

Hello Antal, you can read from my correspondence that I got your email address from Michael Schoch from TWIKE club in Switzerland. I met Michael in Bern end of this September when I attended the event of "TWIKEinBERN". Why do I write this email to you: my daughter had been in Debrecen this autumn (in return to a visit of a Hungarian girl to Germany this summer). Together with the Hungarian girl we came across the funny idea to travel to Debrecen by TWIKE. Now, my question is whether my "funny plan" is feasible? The distance from Munich to Debrecen should be about 950 km. Therefore I need to know: 1. What is the voltage and max. current of standard power points in Hungary? 2. What is the standard plug used in Hungary (on my trip to Bern I had much fun with the various plug systems in Switzerland)? 3. How to charge my TWIKE in Hungary: can I rely on the helpfulness of your fellow countrymen or do I have to carefully prepare my stops? 4. What is the price for electric energy in Hungary for 1 kWh? I hope that you are familiar with the requirements of electric power supply for charging TWIKE batteries. If not, please let me know. Thank you for your help. Best Regards Klaus

Dear Antal, Sorry for the late reply. We still have no ideal battery for the electric bicycle. I have enclosed a link to a Li-ion battery but I would be careful. NiCd or NiMH may be the best solution for now. I advice not to discharge the batteries too deeply before recharge. Good luck. I share your enthusiasm of bicycling.
